Pomerol , 1971
"I remember this dark garnet-colored wine being absolutely delicious in the mid-1970s, and every time I go back to it, it seems to improve in the bottle. It is still superb, with gobs of velvety, ripe, decadent Merlot fruit, an opulent texture, and a long, full-bodied, heady finish. This is among the finest wines of the vintage (eclipsed only by Petrus). Given how long it has been able to rest at its apogee, I may be wrong in saying it should be consumed." Robert Parker
