Chianti Riserva "Vigna la Quercia" - Castelvecchio (Red, Organic)

Full-flavoured Chianti Riserva with lots of dried black fruit, vanilla and spices. The addition of 10% Cabernet Sauvignon to the Sangiovese is evident here, with ripe tannins and a dense body coming straight to the fore along with the traditional more acidic character. Quercia means "oak " in Italian, so this comes from the producer's vineyard overlooking an ancient tree near Florence in Tuscany.
