Maturano - Val Comino (Orange Wine)
Maturano is a unique grape variety with a DNA unmatching to all listed in the most extensive varietal studies. Hand picked and grown on a family farm in the Comino valley. The wine-making takes place in Tuscany using natural methods. The orange hue is created by macerating the crushed white grapes on their skins. These wines are referred to as 'skin-contact wines' or 'orange wines'. Fermenting white wines on their skins is an ancient practice but it is making a huge resurgence in popularity in recent years.
