" Cardito " Malvasia Puntinata - Lazio (White)

Possibly the only wine of its kind in the UK, Malvasia Puntinata is a nearly extinct grape bearing black spots on its fruit. The white produced is enchanting with honeysuckle, apples, pears and camomile. This is another wine from organic producer Donato Giangirolami in Lazio near Rome that benefits hugely from an extended period on the lees or expired yeast cells. Pairing ideas: grilled fish or vegetables/hard cheeses/risotto.
