" Boscodonne " Barbera d'Asti (red)

This is a stunning value wine for the price here with attractive scents of balsamic vinegar, intense dark fruits and liquorice. Round tannins, high acidity and a rich, hearty body. Aged without wood but the complexity for such a wine is remarkable. Barbera often plays second fiddle to Nebbiolo in Piedmont, Northwestern Italy, but the capable Gianni Doglia manages to go above and beyond. Drinking now.
