Montepulciano is one of the greatest red grape varieties from central Italy. Most planted in Abruzzo where it is considered a local emblem, producing the successful and great value for money wine Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. In the region of Marche it is the principal ingredients of the Rosso Conero and Rosso Piceno and is also grown in other regions such as Molise and Puglia.
A very late ripening and always generous grape variety producing wines deep in colour and with a tasty and robust tannin often used as a blending ingredients for other wines.
The tasting will be presented by Eugenio, born and bred in Abruzzo with an extensive knowledge and experience of the product, having worked there as a winemaker for many years. He is also panel member of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for the recognition of the D.O.C Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.
