"Numero Otto" Canaiolo Nero - Rosso Toscano (Red)
£23.45

Canaiolo Nero is usually a grape only used as a minor blending component in the production of Chianti in Tuscany (the main variety is Sangiovese), but producer Castelvecchio came up with the idea of creating a single varietal bottling. The wine is highly aromatic and elegant with violets, white pepper and raspberries. It presents itself entirely differently to a Chianti in the mouth, being more soft and immediately approachable. Fascinating.
